Sykes is one of those customer service outsourcers, but I'll let them explain themselves better than I can :)

Sykes has a global operation, has been around for a while and indeed, is an award winning company. Since they are international, they have opportunities everywhere, but as this is predominately a US centered blog, I'm going to focus on the US opportunities. However, the careers page lists instructions for other countries as well. But it focuses on the US and Canada :)

What the Job Consists of:

In this role you willl be providing customers and end users with customer, product and/or technical support.

  • This is a part time position.  You will be working up to 39 hours per week with shifts assigned based on business needs.
  • Hours of operation are Monday through Sunday 7 days a week 24 hours per day.   
  •  Seven (7) weeks of virtual training .
  • Currently filling classes starting as early as September 12th and continuting through November 2011. 
  •  Training hours are Monday through Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm EST.  You will be required to work 39 hours per week during the training  period.  
  • Pay rate is $9.50 per hour.  A 401K plan is available.

Like most customer service home jobs, applicants are required to have a PC (not a Mac), a high speed internet connection, a headset and a dedicated landline phone.
